Renewable Energy Clubs

General Guidelines for State Nodal Agencies and Engineering Colleges/Institutions for setting-up of "Renewable Energy Clubs".

In order to creak awareness about New & Renewable Sources of Energy (NRSE). its various systems and devices among the students especially those of Engineering Colleges, MNfS has decided to set-up "Renewable Energy Clubs" in the Engineering Colleges in the first instance. Since the students of the Engineering Colleges have scientific and technical background. it is easy for them to understand and appreciate the manufacturing. working and benefits of using NRSE systems & devices. These students can, in turn, become brand ambassador for propagating and promoting the use of Renewable Energy Sources by the public at large. With these objectives in mind, the Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy Sources ( MNES) has brought out the scheme of "Renewable Energy Clubs" initially for Engineering Colleges in the first instance.

  1. "Renewable Energy Clubs" will be first set-up in all the Government Engineering Colleges/Technology Institutions and private Engineering Colleges/Institutes duly recognized/approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).

  2. State Nodal Agencies (SNAs) will seek the willingness from the heads of all such Engineering Colleges in their respective State/UT and confirm the setting-up of duly constituted "Renewable Energy Clubs" including the name of coordinator before release of any funds of them.

  3. Funds will be released to such Engineering Colleges @ Rs. 25.000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand only) per annum per Engineering College through the concerned State Nodal Agency (SNA).

  4. Each such Engineering College which has confirmed the setting-up of "Renewable Energy Clubs" will identify a coordinator of the club and intimate the SNA immediately about the same along with other office bearers and/or members of the said club. The funds will be released only and getting the aforesaid confirmation.

  5. The concerned State Nodal Agencies will help such Engineering Colleges in setting-up of "Renewable Energy Clubs" and will also monitor the activities and functions of these clubs from time to time.

  6. MNES will monitor the working and activities of all these "Renewable Energy Clubs" through the respective State Nodal Agency on regular basis.

  7. All the "Renewable Energy Clubs" will submit their duly audited statement of expenditure and utilization certificates to the respective SNA through the Coordinator & Head of the Institution.
